One week from today we should all be at Abe watching the scrimmage and we can argue about what we think is going to happen. Exciting times.

I will have to see him play more. Based off just his size it’s either Brandon Jacobs from the giants years ago or Derrick Henry.

She is living in a fantasy land. I think we’d all like to not work and make the $240k she is owed this year.

I’ve been trying to figure this out. I think his film looks a little similar to Adrian Peterson in high schools. It’s hard to find a running back with that kind of size and speed. He has to be one of the fastest kids in the country. The only back I’ve seen faster than him this year is Cade Durham. But Cade weighs 190 not 220

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see them both taking handoffs next fall and one day in the NFL. I think it’s really exciting to have two players of that level at the same position in the same district.

Oh trust me. I know Young is a problem. Haha. Spotted it his sophomore year he would be special. I don’t think many people on this planet are like him. I can’t wait to watch Gavin play the H back. Give a change of pace to Young. I really hope they use those two wisely. Would be a nasty run game. If Gavin stays in the pass protect it might give Young a chance to play a bigger role in the pass game and that will be exciting.

I won’t be able to make it out till the scrimmage. Heard numbers were good for the most part this summer. I guess pads go on today so we will start to learn who looks like a football player and who is a football player. The interview the other day Young looked skinny to me but I know he isn’t. Amazing how someone can carry weight like that. TJ seemed ready to go. Looking forward to seeing this receivers group.

Agreed and even then Torres gets to still head into retirement with a massive check every year.

From what I heard complete schools were leaving. It was a very strange way to start the year. Also a lot of money went into that when the district didn’t see raises for staff members. Torres sat on a purple throne the whole time. Very strange

MN will be a win. Forney will be very tough. They will have a long bus ride to ABE but I feel forney is pouring into their athletes and sadly I think it will show.

If you are predicting third who would that third lose be to?

We are only two weeks out from the scrimmage and three from the first game. It’s getting exciting

This one will get ugly. I’m calling Young going 300 yards and 4 TDS to start the year.

I hope we see an upgrade to the football facility side of athletics. Basketball, baseball and softball look great. Football has fallen behind. It’s going to cost a lot to get it up to speed. The indoor/Weightroom will probably cost half a million. Press box can’t be cheap.

I think Tatum made a good choice for everything he wants to do. They pulled off Kyler Murray playing both sports and OU is one of the few schools to do that well recently. I think him and Young switch places so do their rankings but that’s not saying much. Young is bigger and faster and I look forward to watching both develop in college.

I’m all for helping out the smaller schools but the money doesn’t add up. Katy ISD sent out the info about property tax increasing but school funding remaining the same. Plus how do they decide which schools kids are worth more. With the log jam school funding seem to be getting this session I’m sure districts are starting to panic a bit. Every job at schools has a shortage and the people controlling the money don’t seem to see it.

On property tax while it has been increasing the last couple years school funding actually hasn’t increased with it. The state has just used it to cut their funding. So more money from property tax less from the state. I don’t mind my property tax funding schools. I mind the state using it as a reason to give less to schools. The teacher shortage in this area is alarming.

I’m not speaking on this years either. Just what I’ve observed since watching Lufkin football. I’ve been told the OL has been at workouts everyday and putting in extra work after. So I think that’s a great sign they are taking pride in what they do.

I just find it strange. Size is there. Strength appears to be there. Just want to see some road graders.

If the line can play well. I think we get to see Young have a really special season. We will probably also enjoy some playoff success. I’m interested to see his growth. He improved so much from sophomore to junior year. Hoping for the same thing.

Tatum won’t repeat as district MVP. Flowers on the super team surprises me.

One thing that has me worried pre district is every one of the teams has a new head coach. So we will probably be seeing completely different offense and defense. I do think we run the table against all non district opponents

I’d rather avoid Port Aurthur memorial but I think any other matchup is in our favor. Richland in the second round would be an offensive matchup. They have a lot of talent.

I’ve heard Young is getting a lot of work in on the side too. Excited to see him this fall with Gavin. Will be a great tandem.

Today should be the start of July workouts. Anyone have an idea how those have been going? Anyone standing out?
