The girls are off to a hot start. It’s good to see. 

Lufkin ISD as a whole just has so many issues that aren’t even related to sports so it’s really tough right now to focus solely on that. Because what’s more important? Education and child safety or winning a ball game? Priorities. Some schools can have both but we don’t have the type of community that will ever succeed at both. Just sad facts.

I’m sure we’re screwed. My only hope is we have a really good team this year and we beat all of their a$$es up north. 

Judging by how the district didn’t just vote to let us in, and the history of the UIL saying no, I highly doubt we win this appeal. And it’s a dam shame. 

If our staff could put a full season together of effort and care the way they did in that Lancaster game this past season, I believe we would be just fine. There was something different that night. The staff actually wanted that game. With better QB play, we win that thing by 2 scores.

Matt Stepp tryna take a shot at us with that Twitter post about teams that run away from the smoke must not feel good about their guys? Smh. This ain’t about competition. It’s about 4 hour trips ONE way on a Friday night. People that work for a living have to deal with this shyt just to watch their kids play or compete in band etc.. The UIL is trash and screwed us and forget anybody that thinks we are being complicated. This is what’s right.

The fan base that actually goes to games are already slim. The parents of the players is who this sucks for the most. It’s tough for people to make this travel now days. Getting home at like 2 am? Nah that’s ridiculous.

I agree 100%. This is Ludacris for you guys with kids on the team. Absolutely ridiculous. I’d love to smack highland park around but we need to be moved.

Longview is gone to 6A, but get two that are just as dominate in DeSoto and Highland Park.  The old saying, be cafeful what you wish for.  I had wished we would end up in Region II for football.  Matt Stepp/DCTF is pretty much spot on with his predictions.

 

Is it set in stone that desoto isn’t gonna opt up?
