  1. What happened to him? That sucks. I’d like to see how PAM handles him
  2. They probably have trust issues with Lufkin 🤣.. But seriously, if you’re not named Longview or Carthage, they don’t care about East Texas. I think they low key root against most of us out here.
  3. I hear ya. I don’t really think about the future much anyways. Too many unknowns for me lol.. I’m not half the fan you guys are anymore. I never go to games, I won’t be there during the playoffs either. I’ve grown wayyyy too accustomed to sittin in the shop on Friday nights streaming the YouTube channel with a drink in my hand 😅
  4. I think with the pieces we have coming back next season and what I’ve heard about a few that will be coming up, we can be decent again. It’s the 2 seasons after that, that are a big concern for me. Maybe if we have a new staff by then, kids can be coached up. I’ve heard the middle school has some dudes right now but that’s too early to talk about.
  5. Lufkin was getting going when a lot of other programs were. We just so happen to be great when the freakin Southlake Carroll dragons were growing and becoming great. If only we coulda got past them those years. We would have 4 state championships to our name. That alone puts you in an upper tier and your legacy survives longer. We would be more remembered from people outside of Lufkin had we just converted those great years to titles. Instead we have 1, with a handful of what’s only remembered as “great runs” and disappeared. A lot of programs that were becoming dominant when we were are still standing today. A lot factors into that, we all know. Lufkin is at a disadvantage that I don’t think fans of those other perennial powers understand. We don’t get transfers, we don’t have the numbers. Just regular class kids home grown. We get what we get. We’ve been battling a shrinking school district and football program for 15 years. We lost a great coach when we didn’t expect to. We thought we made the right decision afterwards. It went the other direction. Where we failed miserably was never even attempting to fix it. Nobody said winning didn’t come with tough decisions. We decided friendships were more important than winning. Hey, maybe they are. I’m thankful for this group this year, and their parents and other volunteers that have put in work with these kiddos over the years that have put them in position to accomplish something great here. That’s where it starts and what’s what it takes to be winners. Here’s to a great rest of 2024 though for the Pack 🍻
  6. Should’ve bought a Chevy 😎 Seriously, glad it was something simple and you got it fixed!
  7. How many yards did PAM give up to legacy school of sports and Hightower? They allowed 36 and 40 points in those games. Just curious.
  8. I also am misunderstanding the PAM hype. They narrowly beat Dekaney to start the year. Bad team. (Gave up 17 the most Dekaney has scored other than one game against an atrocious Aldine team) Then barely beat legacy school of sports, which has lost to some small schools or barely beaten other small schools. So imo, nothing to brag over. (Gave up 36 in doing so). Then another close game that they lost against Hightower. Now you can argue that was a good game but again, gave up 40 points in a loss. (Hightower has played a very weak schedule so they don’t impress me. Only decent teams on it, they barely snuck out a win.) Then PAM blows out cleburne, which is a horrendous team. Then they beat United handily even though they struggled for a half with them. I mean, what have they done that concerns anybody? They always have athletes and speed. That’s nothing new. I understand they have the ability to do some damage but IMO they haven’t been all that impressive thus far. Obviously matchups are a thing, but you mean to tell me just about everybody has matched up well with them? Lol.. Other than two horrible football teams? Idk man. Ball looks more concerning to me. At least they beat the brakes off of everybody lol PAM literally had a chance last night to put some doubts to rest, but got beat again. Badly.
  9. His health is most important. We really shouldn’t need him against Sterling anyways. I’d rather have him fully ready to go for the playoffs over anything else anyways.
  10. Defense is everything PN said it would be. I had my doubts, he knows what he’s talking about. I just would like the offense to be a little better at finishing drives off and I’d be a lot more confident. Those college station schools as early as the 2nd round scare me. Speaking of PN, is his son ok? I was in and out last night, so didn’t notice if he ever came back into the game or not.
  11. Defensively: 2004 allowed 13.6 ppg during regular season. Allowed 20.6 ppg during the playoff run. 2005 allowed 10 ppg during regular season. Allowed 27 ppg during the playoff run. 2006 allowed 11 ppg during regular season. Allowed 31 ppg during the two playoffs games.
  12. I think it was just kinda the plan. Just be very conservative offensively and stay healthy. I don’t like it. Kinda weak but it is what it is. The defense was fine. They had team speed and play makers, they were bound to make a few plays.
