That's a good question. I know he wants to play and some of it was they were just doubling him and he couldn't get off the block. Same with Alexander. But honestly in a 3-4 they're really supposed to eat up blocks and the LBs are supposed to make plays and our LBs looked really bad last night. I also think we should have left Menefee at FS. So he can oversee everything. Instead you put him on one side of the field and they just run the other way majority of the time. This was the worst game Lufkin has played all year. They just did not look prepared. I'm about as discouraged as I can be. I still believe they will be much better next season but this year has been a complete disaster. The way Lancaster is playing I don't think we can beat them out for the last playoff spot. If we lose to JT that game won't matter anyway.

Exactly, that is how a three man front works, let the linebackers eat. When you run the a 3-4 those linebackers have too be good enough to  take of business . So is the front three or the four that not getting the  job done ??

You have to do something if you can't rush the QB. Letting him stand there is a recipe for disaster. I agree don't get predictable with it but I'm just saying we don't blitz near enough.

I agree with you man ,but that is just it, we are too predictable on defense and offense. And Zion just did not make a impact last night. So why you put a kid out there and risk further injury if he not really ready

The D is what surprised me the most and they have been the group that I've been least concerned about all year.  McKinney North really made them look bad, as PN said we got burned several times on 3rd and long situations, where the D just looked confused.  McNorth has a really great offensive scheme and a creative Offensive Coordinator. Even when the Lufkin D could stop them a few plays, he would always figure a way to get get the ball downfield. Their QB was really in control of what was going on.

Yep, Kendren will probably get the career rushing record for Lufkin and never play a single playoff game, with three seasons of 4-6, 6-4 and at best 6-4 again this year.  Because there are no playoffs involved, he will be forgotten as fast as our career passing leader Jordan Moore.  I wish Quick would just say nothing, than keep talking about the fixing problems hogwash, this is the 8th week man, that is on YOU, and I'm tired of hearing it as a fan. These other programs have pass us by, they are ahead of us, the Outlaw way is tired and out dated, it's done as far as Quick is concerned.

Green always seems to drift away from success, aka players like Preston and Taylor, it just  boggles the mind, he is like a roulette wheel as a play caller. Then again T J missed three wide open guys for TDs tonight. That's a problem we don't talk about much. TJ has got to make those plays. I know we must run the ball, but our OL is not all that great, never understood why Young is not run more to the outside, Green loves running that ball up the middle, he leans on Kedren a lot, not much thinking required. I figure Kedren Young had a good night rushing the ball, he had a ton of carries and a long TD run.  Walker for MN had great night too, probably a better night than Young.  Too bad the Lufkin OL can't help Young better this year.  It's really been a struggle to get yards for him most of the year.

The D breakdown surprised me the most, hard to explain, we did not look prepared for what MN was doing. Am I wrong about that? Total surprise about the secondary coverage and how they had no idea where the ball was most of the time.  Someone said it was because of a lack of pass rush, was our DC afraid of the QB running the ball???   Whatever it was I bet MN had  600 yards of offense tonight on us.

You saw all the empty seats there tonight, that was a BIG game, nobody cared to be there.  Many folks have given up on Quick and staff long before now.  I've been a little slower to wake up, thought sure this year would turn some things around with this talent. However it's the same old crap as before., Listen, I like to support the kids, it's very important to me.  However, at this point now,  I think more people need to walk away to to get the school boards attention that we are tired of this losing.  Who wants to watch losing football?, not making the playoffs for three years, can't win big games. Home field advantage??  We can't win the big games even in our own stadium anymore??

Yea someone said we need to win three in a row now to have a chance for the playoffs. There is no reason to have put ourselves in that position, it's BS.  I'm sorry the buck stops with Quick on this deal.  Hey, I am tired, pissed off, my Thanksgiving football plans are screwed up again. I'm just tired of talking about, and repeating the same tired all the time about this program. There's not even a dead horse to kick anymore.  We could have 15 DI players on this team and I believe the results would be exactly as it is right now. That's what I really think at this moment on a Friday night. Goodnight.

PA , you have spoken well. We will never get anywhere with this staff. Quick and this staff are clueless. I have talked to the higher ups at LISD {no names given} about this, to which they just shrug their shoulder's . I think what few fans are left should just boycott football games, that seems to be the thing in this country. Just parents of football players, band and drill team show up. Season ticket holders opt out" that's what I did".Get LISD'S attention and see where that goes, because us complaining about it has fallen on deaf ears

John King and his staff could take this very team and win play- off games.

I just don't understand it. We have up 3rd and super long 3 times tonight. That was essentially the ball game. We get those stops and we more then likely win. We don't have any natural pass rushers so we need to manufacture a rush. How do you do that? By sending 5-6 guys. Don't even give them time to develop a route to pick up 25 yards. Tonight was beyond frustrating. We have to be better then that.

I hear what your saying ,but if have too blitz a lot ,it's not good, teams will adjust. I,m perplexed a what's happening.

We are starting to get a clearer picture. Longview will prob win district. McNorth and Forney will take the next two spots in no particular order. That leaves Lufkin, Tyler and Lancaster fighting for the 4th and final spot. It's possible that Lufkin could upset McKnorth, but we don't look like a team capable of that right now. The offense has been in the dumpster since the Nac game. They rode Kedren as long as possible. The better teams are gonna force Lufkin to do something different. We could be looking at a scenario were Lufkin vs Lancaster is a winner take all game. That's assuming we take care of business against Tyler. Even that game is in doubt this year.

And Lancaster game is in Lancaster.

I get that part. But he's saying the season is already over and that no playoffs is already a for gone conclusion. I haven't seen enough for me to say that yet. Defense is better then he is giving them credit for too. We all know offense is the problem and it has more to do with the coaching then the kids imo. Let's see how they look tonight and next week before we say no playoffs.

Point taken, let's see tonight. I think it really boils down too one thing, we are all frustrated about the teams lack of success over the last few years, and most don't see or think it will change under the current leadership

Still half the season and he has already thrown in the towel. I'm wondering did he actually watch any of the Longview and Forney games. The defense played well against Longview and they had Forney in a tough game for the first time this year. At least wait and see what happens against McKinney North. I don't think anyone thought we would go 10-0 and that's how he is acting. Arm chair QB at his finest.

Also saying the players haven't been developed is just dumb.

I happen too know him and he's petty well versed on panther football. His nephew went to A&M and was drafted by the Chargers, but what he's looking at is the old saying.." THEY KEEP DOING THE SAME THING EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS" so far he's been right 😳

  8. Today's newspaper had articles from two people about the lackluster performance of this staff, one from Mr Kiel and someone else. Then I read the Q&A and quick is saying the same old repetitive memorized speech about all phases of the game. People that are familiar with Lufkin football and are big fans just have started too staying home on Friday's and the rest of the people that hear these things and my be on the fence about football just don't bother to come

This is what always messes with my head. Why this fixing stuff continues 5 or 6 games into a season. You can't keep addressing things in this way season after season. The team should be getting better as the season moves on.  All of this current 2023 group, coaches and players have 5 games left this year to again make a difference and change folks minds about this team ending up as they have the past two seasons.  I hear the words, we've heard them before of course. At some point, fans stop listening because the results do not match the talk.

I quit listening too that mess a long time ago. This is the line all coaches recite, when they are ask about a game....

And that's why I have Kedren over Lane as a RB. Kedren puts in the work as far as conditioning and lifting and just has a higher ceiling as a RB. He's going to break Lane rushing record in essentially 11 less games. I think Lane was the better football player but as a pure RB I don't think Lane ever had a chance other than FB in the NFL. Jumbo RBs are a thing of the past now. It's all about speed. Remember Jamal Charles was the other RB in that class and his game just translates so much better in the Pros. Same for Kedren. I would rank Lane a head of Kedren on the all time Lufkin list but he's not the better RB prospect imo. I know we're splitting hairs but it's the off week and we don't have anything better to do 😂

That's the great thing  about being a Panther fan ,we all have our opinions. I agree that young has a better chance on the NFL level, but only because Lane just did like too give up the food and condition himself😂 We had great players here and only one Championship to show for it. As much as I don't care for this staff , Outlaw bears some of it also. And that is no disrespect to him, but we should have had at the very least two or three more titles.....GO PACK
