Lancaster is 4-5 overall and 3-3 in district. No big deal, they lost to some powerhouse teams in non district (SOC and Denton Guyer).

Chances in a possible playoff? Excuse me, let me clear my throat on this one.  My trust levels tell me no, not that we don't have the talent to win in the playoffs. We do, the kids would need to take it upon themselves.  However, nothing done by this staff in the last 6 years proves they can, and many here might say the same thing. You can't just turn winning on and off at your digression. Your either a winner or your not.

My  mistake on their win lost record

  2. Lancaster is setting at 5-5, and they seem to be a Jelke & Hyde kind of team. I would think with the right coaching 🙄 we could get this game. The only thing is they are playing at home.I have a daughter that lives in Duncanville so I was kind of leaning on going up there, but she called and said they coming down here for the weekend.

But if by chance we sneaked into the playoffs, what chance do you really think we could get past the first round

On another note. About half the people at the game last night were also watching the Rangers game, much as they were the Astro-Rangers last week in Tyler.  You could hear an out of place hoop and holler every now and then, then it was pointed out to me they were watching the baseball game.  I see where the Rangers pulled out an extra inning win.  Haven't watched a single baseball playoff game, but I do pull for the Texas teams.

It was a beautiful walk off homer for the Rangers. I was watching both games....I,m a Astro's fan but I,m pulling for the Rangers.

The difference was when Outlaw was here, the WINNING and playoff runs brought in extra revenue, a couple hundred thousand dollars yearly into the football program, so they could pay for the buses, help the other sports and buy new uniforms about every 2 or 3 years, They even rated a nice  deal with NIKE for those uniforms.

When you lose, you don't have any playoff revenue, home ticket sales go down, no winning, no NIKE $$$ help. All add up to wearing uniforms 5+ years old, riding yellow school buses and no fans coming to watch you play.  All that losing, bleeds into budget problems, low moral, and the other problems you talk about.  Outlaw did not let the system drag him backward, Quick has been more of a conformist than Outlaw. Football still has the biggest profit potential of any sport on campus, when you lose you kill the cash cow.

    Absolutely

If that is the case, it just proves the school board either can't do anything about it or doesn't care about the losing. Has to be one or the other.  I've got $100 that says this coach misses the playoffs for the 3rd time in a row. The school board have had just as much of a part as Quick, making Lufkin football a losing program.  I'm going to remember them at the ballot box next elections.

I don't like losers, especially when they make excuses for it, or pass the buck as the fault of someone else. That's what we have here now, and worse, have some that are not good at their job, and don't care at the same time. School Board just allowing them to hang around and be losers.

100% correct PA, but LISD is dealing with tons of problems right now. With the the budget overblown, security problem's ,teacher shortages etc, Quick is probably the least of their worries. I also heard that they will no longer charter  buses for games less than a hundred miles.

i think Lufkin is an appealing job for those that know about it. You have natural athletes, whether I think they are developed or not, great fans when winning. I’d want to know money is going to be spent to upgrade facilities. That would be a must. This is building up to be an interesting couple months. If Quick was to step away I just hope the hiring goes fast for the juniors. They don’t need to be lost in all this.

Quick is going nowhere.  LISD will do nothing, I have ask one of them about him, and Quick is the AD so he isn't  firing himself

Thats a good question. He is married with kids now. I don't know anything about his wife. But convincing the wifey to move to Lufkin, could be a challenge. And that goes for anyone married looking to relocate form the city. Plus coaching in small town like Lufkin comes with its own unique politics. Not sure I would want to coach here and have to deal with family and friends in my ear about their kids. Some people think you owe them something, just because they grew up with you. I want a new staff in place ASAP! But even I know Lufkin could be a hard sell. The outdated facility and being way out here in deep ETX doesn't do us any favors.

Not sure about Dixon. Think he has had enough with this area. I don't think he would want to come back. But you never know.

My thoughts exactly, and politics is what Dixon encountered in Crockett

True. I mean, Ralph and staff has definitely made a difference there. I’m just not a Dixon fan, his secondaries were trash here, and his team in Crockett was trash. The kids at yates may just respond to him real well idk. PN played with dixon and still says forget him lol.. I’m all for Lufkin hiring Ralph, he just needs to leave Alton behind

I understand everyone has their opinion's , on people.  Crockett was trash before he got there and he be gone two years and they are still trash. The people in Crockett wanted to coach the team and had their own idea's.

But the conversation of trash  can extend to what we have now. I feel the same way about Quick as you do about Dixon...... straight Trash
