Talking about state seems a little premature. Let’s get in the playoffs. I’m interested to see how the rebuild the offensive line, I think linebackers are untested and who is playing DE this year. There are holes that have to be filled. 48 seniors is great but means nothing if there are gaps
They return like 17 starters. D1 kids at all 3 levels on defense. Offense is loaded too. I'm not talking state but they absolutely should be playing on Thanksgiving

There is no doubt this 2024 team is loaded. In all honesty they shouldn't lose a single game on the schedule with 48 Seniors and all that talent. We all realize that's the way it should be around here this year. However, this program has missed the playoffs three straight years, in fact they haven't made any noise in the playoffs to remember since 2017.
So how are we to view this year? With 48 seniors, what is there left for the 2025 team? Quick has not built much of a playoff contending program here in Lufkin. You could probably take a group of ex-Panther players around town and they could probably coach these 2024 guys to the 3rd round without a problem. Let's be honest. Guess I'm in a place of little faith and want to see it really happen, not just hear or talk about it. There should be zero excuses for success this year.
Jayvion made some throws and plays last scrimmage that really impressed me. The defense is still getting the better of the offense but the offense had some moments against what looks like a defense that is going to be really tough to score on. They pass the eye ball test. I think they're going to beat Longview and win district but we will see.

Lufkin baseball combine for 3 hits and 15 walks tonight for a 9-1 win down in Dayton. The Pack remaining in 1st place in District in 16-5A with a 11-1 record and a 3 game lead over 2nd place Kingwood Park. Lufkin is now 19-6 on the year. Next game is this Friday night, again with Dayton with a chance to secure the district title with a win.
15 walks? I didn't listen to the game because I knew this one would get bad but my goodness

Lufkin baseball drop their first district game in 16-5A tonight down in Porter, a 13-9 Final. The Pack remain in first place with a 10-1 record and 18-6 on the year.
They have a two game lead over Kingwood with 4 district games to play, two with Kingwood.
Errors absolutely killed Lufkin tonight. You can't give up an 8 run inning and expect to beat anyone. Lufkin will be fine. They won't make that many errors again all season.

I read were details of the week 3 game would be released soon. Does anyone have any idea?

Good, I had figured that to be home game for Lufkin. As far as I know the schedule is still missing a Week #3 game. So that's Longview and Nacogdoches at home the first two weeks, maybe an off week, then to Tyler High in Week #4.
I'd be disappointed if they end up having a off week. Just get some Mexico team if you have to. I know for a fact they can get a list of teams nationally to come play if they really wanted to.

Longview has officially listed Lufkin as an away game. Can't think of a better way to start the season than Longview vs Lufkin. Although all of the Longview fans are tossing this up as a warm up game and I get it. Longview has absolutely owned us the last decade but at Abe with a ton of starters returning from a team loaded with D1 kids. It's going to be interesting come August 30 and I fully expect Lufkin to beat Longview. It's going to get labeled an upset and it shouldn't.

Elijah Alexander has an offer from East Central U in Oklahoma. Don't believe it will be the last.
That's the school former Lufkin Panther Michael Ingram is coaching the DL at and definitely won't be his last offer.
I'm really excited for this season coming up. Can't wait.

Lufkin has won 12 straight and 15-1 in the last 16 games with the lone loss coming to one of the best teams in Texas by 1 run. I've done a deep dive into Lufkin's schedule and all the loses have been to good teams. This is a really good team. Wonder how they compare to the team we had 2 years ago. Maybe someone that knows can break it down for me.

Lufkin Panther Baseball keeps on rolling with a 9-1 win on the road tonight at Nacogdoches. This puts the Pack in solid 1st place in 16-5A at 7-0 and 15-5 on the year.
I think early on we didn't realize some of those games they lost were to some really good teams.

Still do not have a week three game on the Panther 2024 schedule, however I'm told that there are still opportunities out there. Do not know where that would be, however not everyone has completed their schedules.
No guess from this side, Longview, Tyler and Nacogdoches are going to be good games. Yes, Nacogdoches, because Darby House is a great coach and will make Nacogdoches a playoff team in 5A DII. Tyler will be greatly improved.
This schedule will be a hugh test, did I mention Longview? Probably didn't need to because we always play them. The Lobos have disected Lufkin pretty well the last 3 or 4 meetings, Quick just can't beat them or does he just not have the players?, anyway it's been pretty much non competitive since 2017.
Tick Tick Tick, we wait. Spring football begins in a little over 3 weeks, so we will have more to see and talk about.
Hearing Louisiana and Mexico are options. Longview is likely a home game and Louisiana would be an away game

it's a 2 strike approach ...which if done correctly can help the hitter with the pitch timing.... putting the ball in play... sort of like choking up just to make contact?
Thanks. I was thinking something to do with timing

That Kaden Dixon from Center is the nephew of McKinner Dixon. His dad also graduated from Lufkin but not sure if he played football. He is going to Northern Arizona I believe
A little off topic but still track. My son that's a sophomore at Cy Falls just broke the school record in the triple jump with 46-8. That currently ranks him 94th nationally in all classes.
