FYI -Playoff games comparison between Lufkin and Longview. Longview has 78 playoff wins, and Lufkin has been sitting at 46 wins since 2017.
We will probably never catch them unless we get hot for several years and they go cold cold. Crazy to think we have been sitting at 46 for almost 6 years.

I can’t imagine being an official. That’s a tough job. My old classmate Sparky does Basketball he just did the Div 2 championship game. I think he will continue to go to bigger and better games. I was a ref for basketball one season and it was craziness. They wanted a foul on every little thing. Made good money doing to but never again.

You about to have a busy year. Will you be able to make any games?
Will make it down for the game Texas and OU weekend and take my son to that game. Will try to make or down for another one flights from Seattle can get expensive.

Those white jerseys are nice. Would be cool to bring back the LP helmet decal.

Ready for some football LP and Grapeland let’s Go!!! My son had his scrimmage Friday said it was very hot playing. The heat will play a factor to start the season the best conditioned team will win.

J Lane is the closest I can figure. We have never have anyone else like him here.
Manns? He was the best back I watched play in Lufkin. Can’t deny his college success as well. Lane is right there. Young is special ND don’t hand out scholarships he will be a stud.

But open with the P C song?????? Who does that before teachers and students? The one we haven't spoken about is the performer being totally stupid enough to sing that song in a HS setting. He exhibited no common sense at all, and he should be penalized part of his fee for this improper action.
Yep craziness to even do that. Should know better. Sadly we have lost common sense theses days.
-
Very true you would expect them to play clean songs for teachers and nothing wild. But like you said lesson learned for the future.

I was told it was one of those " you can't make this stuff up" moments. Whoever gave authority approval, evidently did not fully understand what was going to happen. You would hope this was the case. As a teacher would say, a lesson learned. 😉

Does not even matter who gave the authority. Anything happening good, bad or indifferent falls on the superintendent they are responsible for the direction of their organization. Leadership is hard when it’s time to take the blame and wanna place that blame on others.

If you are predicting third who would that third lose be to?
Teams always loose to someone they should beat. Forney will he tough. Who knows they could catch LV or Lancaster. Either way no way imo they finish 5th.
-
LP definitely will make the playoffs. No way they finish 5th. 3 or 4th I am thinking. LV and Lancaster will be tough outs. I am going with 7-3 and a playoff win at a minimum.
Go Pack

In a sudden ad stunning move today, Greenville head coach/athletic director Darren Duke on Tuesday morning informed Greenville ISD administration that he was retiring and stepping down as HC/AD just 6 days before practice was to begin. Greenville did not have Spring practice.
Duke has been in Greenville since 2012 where he served as the Lions offensive coordinator from 2012-2015 before being promoted to athletic director/head football coach in 2016. 2019 was his best season leading Greenville when GHS posted a 6-5 record and advanced to the Class 5A state playoffs.
- 2022 (2 - 😎
- 2021 (3 - 7)
- 2020 (4 - 5)
- 2019 (6 - 5)
- 2018 (2 - 7)
That’s weird. Have to ask is there more to the story? 6 days prior that’s horrible and bad leadership unless it was an extreme situation health or major family reasons.

My son had his first practice at Grapeland today. Excited to see him play. Going into his sophomore season 6-2/200. Also my nephew is a Panther can’t wait.

Former Lufkin football players Ja'Lynn Polk and Jerrin Thompson are a month away from electrifying crowds while performing on the national stage. On Saturday morning, they were simply a pair of college student-athletes giving back to their community.
Very nice to see them giving back. Wish them nothing but the best. 🤘🏽🤘🏽

Difference, the California schools mix private and public, and some only play to Regional Championships. Florida has the private school issue too, except they do play all the way to a State Titles in classifications, like Texas. Max Prep, Ehhh! Aledo should be ranked ahead of SOC, and completely left out Lancaster, which should be right there with Longview. 😉
These list are always subjective. I would say about 10 are always at the top. The main reason why is they recruit players to them and they play several teams around the nation. For example the top team in Hawaii only lost to two private schools that recruit players. Hawaii is only so big of course they can’t compete with those teams but it is fun to travel and play big games.
The Yelm team in Washington would not get past the 2nd round in Texas. Watched them play last year with other top teams around here.

LP has to have solid High level D1 type of QB play to make it far in the playoffs. Young can only do so much. Pretty much the way football is these days it starts with the QB unless you have a defense like the Baltimore Ravens had. It does sound like we have solid options hopefully they get developed and do big things.
-
Congrats to Young. Texas fan myself but ND is a great school to prepare for the NFL or life after Football.
PA,
With the transfer portal you have to get your spot locked in when you can.

Not sure but that’s DE or LT right there.
The center practices against one of the best DT in the country so I am sure he is getting important reps.
