Yep, I miss those days. When i knew we were going to beat up on a team, not just win a game. Especially the days when we went down to the Houston/Woodlands area.

The Pack gotta prove them wrong. It’s a tall task going up there and getting a win. We both been to a lot of games up there and I can’t even remember that game we won, but definitely remember the classic games we had up there. Some we definitely should’ve won.

They talk about coming down here and being down 14 when they get off bus, but they don’t have to play against alumni refs like we do lol. Kidding aside, i think this team is good enough this year to make it another classic longview vs Lufkin game. This team just gotta prove people wrong this year, especially in our own fan base. We definitely have the talent this season and defense to keep it close. Coaching and Oline struggles still worry me though.
 

As for the prediction, when we were sitting together last year neither one of us thought 56-7 would happened too lol. That was shocking to everyone in the stadium and at Abe of all places. It was shocking to the lobos. But I’m hoping the boys can go up there and send a message like your UT guys did in Bama.

So we can see what to look forward to in August and a very tough and highly talented 7-5A football district.  Lufkin has at least one more year of this district, then hope we go back south again. Anyway, teams like Lancaster and Forney are most likely moving up to 6A depending on the designated cutoff. Longview will be on the high end of the bubble, but they have a way of counting 1/2 students that may keep them 5ADI.  Lufkin will remain 5ADI for sure.  Not sure about West and North Mesquite. McKinney North won't go 6A but they will most likely be somewhere else than with 3 East Texas schools..

Until then Lufkin will need to grind it out with the current 7-5A DI group. it will certainly bring out the best in a team every week.  Couple of extremely tough road games this year for the Panthers.   I would like PantherNation to throw a little light on how things line up.  Where is Pack007, have not heard from him in a while, hope he is doing okay.

I'm going to briefly touch on coaching trust, because I think this is a reason some members do not talk here any longer. it has become like beating a dead horse.  Most of you know how I feel, but that's about the extent of me talking about it here these days. I do think it make a difference when we play better teams, and will leave it at that.  

This is going to be a great group of kids to watch play the next couple of years and I hope they are allowed to use their full potential to be successful.  Our Superintendent Lynn Torres is stepping down in June 2024, I strongly suspect the same will happen elsewhere too.  It will be interesting to see who takes over the baseball program and who heads up the Volleyball girls moving toward the end of the 2024 school year.

I’m still here reading PA. I hope all is well with you and everyone else. Just disappointed again in what happened last season, so just was taking a step back. Plus Book has more information on this current group. Not much for me to offer in offseason. 
 

But I’m still pulling for Pack and hope they can turn it around. I’ll also be at games next season again. Just hope some changes happen for this program in future. Tired of seeing what i watched last season and previous years.

The pictures of the link I posted was not Dunbar vs Daingerfield. I got that confirmed on smoakey.

Get in contact with Bunzt on there. He was telling me some things about the Daingerfield and Dunbar game. He did say that Dunbar was the best team Daingerfield played in 68.

My vote would be to re-name the stadium after Coach Outlaw, but I don't see that happening.  I don't know what the legal ramifications are, if any, but it's rare to see a stadium re-named.  I grew up in Abilene - and I have no idea who Pete Shotwell was, nor do 95% of the people that go there - but that's it's name.

At the least, the field should be named after Coach, but would love to see a new precedence of re-naming the stadium.

Agree. I know a few people on here are going to jump on me for typing it, but I think Coach also deserves to have a statue or something like that at Abe or at the practice facility.
