Sure wish we could have seen him at Texas or TCU. Congratulations to Mikal headed to the U of H. Many former Panthers passed through the Bill Yeoman - Houston Cougar football program back in the 1970s and 1980s, when former Lufkin Dunbar Head Coach Elmer Redd was an assistant coach at the U of H.

Thank you. TCU was a close 2nd. I would had loved to see the Longhorns myself but Houston made him a priority. Going to be fun.

Starting to see the DI talent emerging in the Panther football roster with RB Kedren Young (Colorado State, Purdue, Texas Tech, Arizona, Tulane, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Louisiana Tech and UTSA) and DT Zion Williams ( Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and UTSA)  picking up multiple scholarship offers from P5 schools and more to follow.

You guys please let us know if there are any other current Panthers getting scholarship offers.

Cam Lister signed with Henderson St. As for the up and comers they will have a few more down the road.

Appreciate it. If he plays as good as a kid he is. He is going to show out.

  2. We embark on another year of football will many promises for improvement and getting back to the playoffs after a two year absence for the Panthers.  Many here, including myself, have discussed for two years now the up and coming talent from the freshman and sophomore ranks.  Some of this we witnessed in 2022 although the team still finished 6-4 and out of the playoffs.  There are even more expectations from this group in 2023, 2024 and 2025.  Of course that is yet to be seen, and our hope is this talent will prove out to be the outstanding group we all expect them to be the next few years..

Lufkin Panther Football TV broadcast from 2012-2016 . This was when MSGPR was broadcasting the games for the Panthers.

Works better on a laptop. Have some difficulty watching on my phone for some reason.

There are also some Lufkin Panther basketball, baseball and soccer games from 2013.

There are some spring Purple - White  football games and Lufkin High School Graduation Ceremonies between 2012 and 2016.  Even a Power Puff Football game or two.  A couple of Senior breakfast.

  11. He may or may not have been. I really don't know. I just asked you if you edited what you originally said about him. Was just wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me or if I really did see something different earlier.

Something written back in 2011 by Gary Ivins, so I don't know at this point. We are in the Quick Era now and it has been 25 years since Culpepper was here. All coaches past and present have contributed to the Lufkin program in some form or fashion. Everyone's perspective on those contributions can be different I guess.
