Looks like the weather is not going to cooperate on Thursday for a playoff game,  so the Thursday game has been moved up to Wednesday night at 7 PM

Forney is a lot like us, they have three really good pitchers, they play good D and have the timely hitting.  They beat a very good Whitehouse group, a group that had been together for 3 years.    Forney will be the best team Lufkin has faced in these playoffs.  Aiden Sims their Texas A&M commit has the pitching and hitting power for this team. Chase Agpawa 1 hit Whitehouse on Saturday.  Lufkin is more than capable to hold their own and have proved it all season. 

Who is headed out this evening to watch the Spring Game?   

I'm interested so see somewhat of a game plan for this group, although practicing against each other for a month tends to breed a familiarity of tendencies.

We are only 3 1/2 months away from our scrimmage with Huntsville, time goes by quick, the 2024 season will be quick too.

The last go around as a Panther football player for 48 Seniors. What successes are ahead?

Lufkin (26-7) will face Forney (27-9-1) in the 3rd Round of the playoffs, Forney eliminated Whitehouse today 3-1 to take their series 2 games to 1 to move to the next round. The Jackrabbits finished in 2nd place in District 14-5A behind district winner Corsicana. Time and Place TBA.

We are through 6 innings headed to Top of 7th, Lufkin is up 6-3. We need 3 outs, Go Pack!

Through 5 innings, Lufkin has come back to lead 4-3 going into the 6th.

Top of 5th,  McKinney North is up 3-1 over Lufkin.

This umpire stinks, I feel bad for Hillis.

Game two, McKinney North leading Lufkin 1-0 at the end of 3 innings.

Due to  weather, today’s Lufkin Panther Baseball Area Round Playoff Game 1  has been canceled.

The series will start at 5:30pm on Friday with game 2 following 30 minutes after game 1 on Friday. 

If needed, Game 3 will still be at 2:00 on Saturday!

Not a word. I'm not going to try to assume what is or is not transpiring.  I've been out to watch only a portion of 3 practices. You can tell there are numerous talents on this team, how well it is put together and game planned will tell the story come August through November. One thing for sure, the practice regiment looks the same as it looks any other year. That only means you won't be able to surmise anything until they play against some really good competition.

No longer do I  form opinions too far in advance, judge it all now by looking at results, not the talk or what they should be on paper. Go Pack!
