What he does just makes it easy for other DC like Longview.  They have had him figured out for years nEven the Longview fans see the discrepancy and talk about it.  I may not care for Longview at all, but those folks know their football. They've played a lot more playoff games than Lufkin these past 16 years, you must show them that respect.

There is no doubt this 2024 team is loaded. In all honesty they shouldn't lose a single game on the schedule with 48 Seniors and all that talent. We all realize that's the way it should be around here this year.  However, this program has missed the playoffs three straight years, in fact they haven't made any noise in the playoffs to remember since 2017.

So how are we to view this year? With 48 seniors, what is there left for the 2025 team?  Quick has not built much of a playoff contending program here in Lufkin.  You could probably take a group of ex-Panther players around town and they could probably coach these 2024 guys to the 3rd round without a problem.  Let's be honest.  Guess I'm in a place of little faith and want to see it really happen, not just hear or talk about it.  There should be zero excuses for success this year.

Unfortunately there are still false narratives about the players here. Of course we have few knuckle heads. But that goes for most programs. I know a lot of the players that come up here. The vast majority have been high quality kids under Quick. Menefee, Kedren, Zion, are all great kids. Along with many others that played this year. Bug Thompson, Breylan Garcia, Big Carl, Jaylon Polk were also great kids. Those guys handled their business in and outside the room. It's one of the things that is so frustrating to watch. We have had some of the most coachable kids you could ask for. Yet we have little to show for it.

Thanks well said it's obvious you really know these kids and not just making assumptions. LP4L

I notice few looks for low post action. It takes lots of effort to set up low, screen high, or roll low. You need to have at least one decent post guy and be be part of the offense. Dont have that this year. Maybe more screening for Brown or Parks, or anyone? It's all motion and overload, and swing it to off side, one on one stuff. You have to have a good PG who is looking to distribute the ball to the right guy, not just dribble around, maybe couple guys other than Brown and Park to handle the ball. Can our PG shoot?, he seems to pass up a lot of 12-15 ft shots.

There is a lot I do not recognize about the game anymore. I see the opportunities on the court, however if that is not part of their offense, none of that will be seen, if it not part of the offense. Any old school opportunity stuff I may see out there doesn't mean much today. Not able to break the press was an eye opener, didn't see that one coming for this group.

He better pass them up and pass to Brown or ------ be on the pine

Kids do this all the time in basketball. It's like a prep year almost. Wouldn't be surprised if he graduates early because it's already payed off.

I sometimes forget Brown is just a 10th grader. He has lot more growing to do, physically and mentally. His game will continue to evolve over the next few seasons, which is scary. Parks has also improved this year. No shame in losing to those two teams. Lufkin still has some tough matchups against Shadow Creek, Silsbee and Jacksonville before district starts. So plenty of time and opportunity to get some things going before district.

Supposed to be a Jr parents held him back a year. Don't really know why probably none of my business but he played on the same 7th grade team with my grandson.kid could shoot then.above all the kids his age

Done trying to figure Green. I've got one already figured, he hangs with the Seniors regardless the talent of underclassmen. Both Murphy kids are Seniors, remember last year?, MaMa came and got them out of football cause something wasn't going right. Don't remember if it was playing time or something that happen in practice. They had to be coaxed back. If Young wasn't on the team this year Baquari would have been the featured back. T J was a Senior. We were told lots of things going into the scrimmage, like playing two big backs, throwing to H-B out of the backfield, a two QB system. Yea, Phillips goes out, and everything goes back to normal as usual, but Chinn was there to use. Look, we really spent most of the year trying to get Young the rushing title. That was #1 on Green's list of things to do. We could have thrown the ball 60/40 and been more successful and maybe that would have made it easier for Kedren to get yards, cause the D couldn't stack the line. He is not a great OC, not a good situational play caller and doesn't tweak his system to the talent. Look, the guy has always had to have exceptional talent to be successful. A good OC finds ways to put all his best skilled players in their best position to be successful. We don't get people out in space enough, aka throw more quick slants or swing passes to the slot guys. More slot motion, more slot running the ball. THEN, you can't key on Young, and the OL just needs to protect a couple seconds.  It's not rocket science. Take the deep ball when you can get single coverage, do some PA. It's not that hard. Then again that was not the agenda this year.

So correct I made a post last year talent vs upper class and got all kind of backlash on the board.almost the same post .I can text you watch a lot of football. I do as well watched them in practice last year truly some underclassmen were better than the seniors on both sides of the ball

  8. What can we do? Sad we can't move our kids most not getting developed to even get a chance at college.everyone comments are right.coaches stand around unconcerned.because they know they still getting paid.and if a parent says anything they take it out on the kids.i watched Green in practice giving baseball signals to the offense with no scheme.12 in the box kedren up the middle my God man at least get him the ball in space.defesive backs out of position.not looking for the ball .not enough space to talk about o line. Worst part about it.Quick sees the same and doesn't try to adjust. Durham secondary coach needs to coach track only .hate our kids will never experience true panther pride like the days of Coach Outlaw

I really hear what your saying, I've seen this talent sitting here all year, been waiting for it to burst out have have that one big complete game. It hasn'thappen.. To say we may have a coaching advantage for a chang is a surprise statement. I'll take that for whatever it's worth. Don't really know WHAT to say or think about this game, and it's strange for me because I really don't have any feeling about it one way or another. The NM loss last year did me in last year, and the Tyler loss pulled the plug this year. I've lost trust that these guys coaching can pull it together to win a big game anymore, much less make any playoff run. All I can say is surprise me, prove me wrong, I'm game.

Well we will have something to play for Friday. Lancaster won't come in sleep walking during the first half this time. They have something on the line too.

Playoff atmosphere in the words of big nasty we don't need it we got to have it baby let's go pack. One thing about it we have definitely been in some dog fights even though we been talking the whoppings  we shouldn't be scared.  Let's go pack
