So does the OL actually start slow or is it the defenses start to get tired mid game and Young is then able to use his talent to compensate for that OL. I believe it’s the later.

Believe it or not but Lufkin has $ problems from decreasing enrollment. Even that article says districts with low income students are at a disadvantage when losing numbers. Big cuts are coming but probably not in the higher paying jobs but in the lower paying aid type jobs where students are actually getting help.

This is just one example of purple kool aid. My opinion is it’s too early to say how good we are. Our OL was pretty roughed up by a decent sized 3 man front but those guys weren’t huge. Young had a few big runs due to his talent but those 3 guys also did good at containing him. QB had some big tds but that receiver was wide open too. Again due to talent of wr or lack of defensive secondary?

The only reason to use 2 QBs is because neither is good. Hope we have a definite starter.

That guy made a few thousand, wasn’t anywhere near 50k. School definitely has a budget problem but it’s going to be hard to balance unless the state comes through with big $s. Lufkin has lost big numbers of students and losing those $s cannot be replaced. It would be interesting to know how many uncertified teachers are in the classroom this year, the number is high. Hopefully the board brings someone from the outside to straighten this mess out.

But they also had over 10 administrators that weren’t able to do their jobs, so what happened to them? They created new jobs for them and now are doing basically nothing. That itself is over 1 million loss.

The loss of students has led to the shortfall. Losing students and adding administrators makes no sense to me.

This years budget is 5.5 million in the red. Last years was 4.4 million in the red. There goes your renovations PA.

Looks like superintendent just submitted resignation today but wants to be paid for the entire year. Just can’t make this stuff up.

Dude, it’s not going to take 10 years. If they actually paid even near the $ number I’ve been told, someone needs to be dismissed today.

That’s so funny. School takes over booster club, hurting feelings and saying club wasn’t needed. Now after being gone a few years, they are realizing what you guys did for them and need you to resume those tasks and you now want to run back?

New turf is definitely needed but not much else is going to change with a shrinking student base. District has lots more problems then stadium upgrades at this time.

Unless something drastic changes, don’t expect an outsider to be the next sup.

I don’t think the leadership in Lufkin has much to do at all with getting an individual to the next level.
