Could you imagine a creative mind with that talent at WR and a stud D1 RB like Kedren in the backfield? Holy opportunity.

All it would take is to move the two quick inside recievers  to a wing position close to the tackles. Numerous option plays, sweeps, counters, and reverses could be used. Plus the power plays and sweeps with Kedron and you can bet Preston and the other big reciever would get alot of one on one coverage on the option and play action passes. You do not need a huge line to do this utilizing trap and option gap blocking

I,m kind of thinking in that same line as are the kids as talented as we are lead to think, or is that there are many of them just going through the motion and are just frustrated with the program in general

I dont believe that we have as many good players than we did in the late 90's thru mid 2000's however how many teams in our district have a rb comitted to notre dame and DT recruited by likes of alabama, georgia etc and other kids that can really play? If they did, I bet they would be competing for at least the # 2 spot in district. The other thing I noticed is Lufkin does not seem to have as many on the team as in years past. My son graduated a few years ago and said you would not believe some of the guys walking the halls that do not play.

  3. It would help our running game if we run the x or z reciever  over the middle of the field when we run a twin reciever set. We ran one play across with # 14 tonight and it was successful. We need these routes to keep the opposing backers busy with coverage. Without that threat, lbs are free to key the run or blitz. If we would move murphy and # 14 in close in a double wing we could utilize them in the run game with counters, options and sweeps

I made a comment that LV may not be as good this as some of their teams in the past. Well the defense looked awesome last night, but look at who they were playing. In the play offs teams will be a lot tougher than us and will slow Tatum down and have better offenses than us. I don't think the passing as good also but you have to admit,Lufkin made them look invincible last night.😟

You are right. Aledo is not afraid of big bad Longview. They have coaches that excel at scheming for opponents and players confident to execute the plan
