Will get to see Polk try to beat Thompson or vice versa, , Lufkin sure has a pipeline of talent

Stunned by the state of affairs in Lufkin… anywhere else in the state and you’d have a new staff in town years ago

I stopped by and checked out the JV game yesterday. They have some huge linemen. Not sure how it will translate once they get to varsity. A few players did stick out. I was impressed with Kenneth Waters. The team was playing pretty hard. Saw a crack back block by one of our reivers that blew the Tyler defender off his feet. It got a big reaction from the crowd. Unfortunately the play was called back because of holding. I haven't seen a Panther player throw a block like that in a while. But the player that really stood out was #10 Carson Jones. That kid is a head hunter. And really stood out from both squads. He was all over the field and has a motor. Reminded me of some of the old Lbs of past Panther squads. Dude wraps up and puts a lick on you. I lost count of how many times the announcer called his name. Definitely looking forward to seeing him in the future.
Wish Carson Jones would have stayed at Diboll, he moved to Lufkin a year or two ago.

Longview won a dog fight with Forney
Held a Forney team that apparently was averaging 50 ppg to 7 tonight

The visitors side looks rather empty… I remember the days when Lufkin fans travelled well no matter how far the game was

Today you can catch a couple Angelina county boys on the same field when Boise State takes on Washington. Former Diboll Lumberjack Herbert Gums #98 for BS will be on field with former Lufkin Panther Ja’Lynn Polk. Washington is ranked #10

Noticed a new name on the Diboll roster, Omarion Scott, looks like he last played for Lufkin JV, but made an immediate impact in last night’s game.. just shows the level of talent Lufkin has that can make immediate impacts in smaller divisions. Looks like he excels in track too. While they didn’t win the game he will be a playmaker this season

Jeremy Stewart?? Diboll was 31-11 last year. Lost in 2nd round. Guess they will need to make an announcement soon for someone, the season is almost here.
This is true, Coach Stewart made the announcement a few days ago. He will be the next volleyball coach at Lufkin. Also, Diboll lost head baseball coach VJ Bunner, he’s headed to Tyler Legacy for take over their baseball program. Can’t say I didn’t see the loss of Bunner coming especially with the great success hes had over the past 4 years at Diboll
