It's week two of the 2024 playoff and the 10-1 Lufkin Panthers are there. The Panthers will face the 10-1 College Station Cougars on 11/22 down at Randall Reed Stadium, New Caney, Texas. Lufkin has played their before a couple times while in the New Caney district back 2020-2021 and a playoff game there against Spring Westfield in 2017. Lufkin won their first round game 63-14 over (5-6) Houston Milby at home. Milby was the 4th place team from district 10-5ADI. College Station won their first round game at home as well over (5-6) Crosby 41-10, the 3rd place team from District 11-5A DI. Lufkin won District 9-5A DI with a 6-0 record and College Station finished 2nd in District 12-5A DI behind A&M Consolidated with a 7-1 record. CS only loss in district was to AMC. Lufkin and College Station have played 4 times since 2018 with Lufkin and CS tied @ 2-2.
