  1. A more in depth break down of each region. You can skip to around the 55:00 mark for ours. I think College Station and Consolidated get taken out before semifinals.
  2. Honestly this concerns me more than anything else. I think they kinda slept on us this year. Especially BH that first game at ABE. We'll see how it all plays out. Just feels good to be back in the playoffs.
  3. You are correct. Matt did show Lufkin some love in the region preview I posted. I think he would pick Galveston Ball to win the region if not for Jonah Williams injury. He has been really high on them all year long. They may still upset Consolidated in the second round.
  4. https://www.texanlive.com/video/672930842d00e300019549e1 They cover 5A Region 3 around the 19 minute mark. Don't need an account to view.
  5. Won't take long to see some big matches in this bracket. Assuming everyone takes care of business in the first. There will be some good teams going home in the second round.
  6. Yeah I know. But he actually showed some promise vs West Brook. It's hard to complain when we are winning. Just a few things I think we could do better scheming and player management. Waters is a tough kid..but I wouldn't feed him the ball 27 times. Which is what he had last night. He not built to carry the ball that much. You have other capable backs to help him carry the load. Also not a fan of Kevo being handed the ball in the backfield late in the game. When it's obvious you just trying to milk the clock. We are up 14 and on their side of the field. Just hand the ball off to one of the other 4 running backs at that moment. Kevo took an unnecessary hit and appeared to be injured on that play and had to be helped off the field.
  7. The $10 to park in that grass field is ridiculous. It's worse than the pay to park at Independence stadium in Shreveport and the $5 I had to pay back in '05 at Port Arthur Memorial. We ended up paying $5 to park at the church across the street. Other than that, the atmosphere was pretty nice. Great win by the Pack. Offense still a bit too predictable for me. Waters has been great at RB but he's a smaller back. He's a tough kid. But those hits start to add up over the season. Green needs to give the other backs some touches to help with the wear and tear on Waters. Also puzzled as to why Gavin is not given more opportunities on those short yardage carries? If teams know you gonna run it anyway, why not use your biggest RB? Instead we used Waters one of those plays and he got stopped short. I think the offense will come along as Preston and Hooper get back into rhythm. Green just has to add a little spice to the offense and the athletes will do the rest. Lufkin defense and special teams has been outstanding. So many players continue to make key plays. Awesome group of kids to watch play. The Qb started to get a little off his game once Lufkin dialed up the blitz and started laying some wood on him.
  8. It’s more Green. I know they are an extension of him. But he doesn’t always maximize the weapons we have. Notice how ball design creative plays that get the ball into their wideouts. Several plays already have their wrs running in motion when the ball is snapped and thrown to them. Green should take advantage of Kevo the same way more. And why is Gavin not starting??
  9. It just proves what we have known all along. DCTF has been extremely high on GB, but not so much for Lufkin, despite them having a much weaker schedule. The storyline should be about all the adversity Lufkin has overcome to remain competitive this season. But instead of recognizing how Lufkin has almost won all their games with key players missing the entire year. He'd rather focus on GB being "wounded" and possibly losing to Lufkin because of it. Basically already making an excuse. I'm not saying William being gone doesn't hurt them. I've watched film of him playing and he the real deal. Although I think they being generous listing him at 6'5..he looks closer to 6'3 to me. And I didn't see huge difference between his play at safety and Evan Young for us. It's like some people are upset that Lufkin may actually spoil GB Cinderella season. I just hope the weather holds up and we go down there and get a win.
  10. It was obvious when I watched the game. Taking nothing away from our girls. But you could tell McNorth had faced much tougher competition. Apparently it was the same across the board.
  11. The basketball team is looking good this preseason. They also beat San Antonio TMI. Who is coached by former NBA player and coach Monty Williams. Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen sons are on the team. Have no clue how good they are. The Pack went 2-0 in the Bellaire Shootout in Houston this weekend. They also picked up a win against Cy Springs. Some of the pundits with sites about HS basketball are pretty high on Lufkin. I have seen a few comment on Lufkin being a team to watch, after seeing them play over the summer.
  12. I tuned in to watch the game. Big Nasty did mention that McNorth was ranked in the top 20.
  13. Congrats to LPVB on a great year. McKinney North is a tough first round match.
